TENT house for contemporary circus

BECOME MAKER FOR A DAY
Present your circus act or work in progress at Back to Base open stage.

TENT house for contemporary circus in Amsterdam launches an open call for circus makers with their practice in the Netherlands. For the fifteenth time, the Back to Base stage is a breeding ground for artists who want to test an act or fragment of maximum 10 minutes in front of an audience and professionals. We keep the stage requirements to a minimum; the focus is on artistic quality and content: Back to Base. We call on circus artists who have been working for a while, have just graduated or are still in training. Also performing artists with affinity to circus are welcome. Each participant of the open stage receives a daily fee (according to the Collective Labour Agreement) and a compensation for travel expenses.

Fill in the google form before March 11, 2024.

We consider your application on the following criteria, among others:
• You have a clear artistic vision
• Your working practice is in the Netherlands
• Circus (in the broadest sense of the word) is the basis of the work that is shown
• Your work communicates with the audience

When putting together the programme, we look at how different circus disciplines can be addressed. In addition, when selecting makers and artists, we look for a broad representation of society in which as many different stories as possible are told.

TENT house for contemporary circus is a production house. We form a close community with our makers and are committed to a flourishing circus climate. We stimulate and support circus talent in the Netherlands in different stages of their development.
