TENT house for contemporary circus

BE FREE BUT FOLLOW THE RULES

House of Circus will launch two new hybrid Club versus Culture concepts: ARMOR AMOR “be free but follow the rules” and Mirror Me “a visual and absurdist take on self-reflection”. An FIRST presentation will take place during ADE, Amsterdam Dance Event, as part of Alice in Thunderland: a surreal club night by performance collective R3LN4CHT at Theater De Landing.

Nick Van der Heyden and Germain Charlat are trained at Fontys Circus and Performance Art, with specialisations in hand balancing (Nick) and trapeze (Germain). Under the name House of Circus, they combine circus and drag, celebrating diversity and colour. They bring glamour back into circus and combine humor and social themes. With their performances, they aim to contribute to more acceptance and safety for the queer community. In the coming years, House of Circus will be co-supported by the New Makers Grant of the Performing Arts Fund NL.
