Hi, I am Maaike Muis, and when I introduce myself and say I am a former circus director it always puts a smile on their face. The word circus evokes so much imagination and curiosity. And that is also the power of circus. The word alone opens whole new worlds, of people who amaze us with magical things.
Having been artistic director at Circusstad Festival for 12 years, I am very happy that now, as a podcast maker and interviewer, I can share my love for circus and its wonder through the creation of the podcast Circus Whispers. Because that magic, on stage, in the arena or on the streets doesn't just happen. Years of hard work precede it. And with Circus Whispers, I get to peek at those extraordinary creations.
