We are taught how to behave, what is beautiful, and which emotions are appropriate. In *Tyr Auf!, Cyr wheel artist Fenja Barteldres challenges not only the logic of her discipline, but also the conventions that shape us. What happens when we stop following the familiar and begin to reinvent?

What if you have spent your entire life believing that femininity is measured by the length of your hair, the size of your waist, or the amount of space you take up? That some are expected to care for others, while others are taught to hide their tears. Tyr Auf! unfolds a world built on expectations that have become deeply ingrained. Beliefs that once promised guidance but ultimately led to dead ends. The harder one tries to fit the picture, the clearer it becomes that it was never made to fit.

With four dismantled Cyr wheels, optical illusions and constantly shifting perspectives, Fenja plays with our expectations. What appears fixed suddenly becomes fluid. What seems impossible happens anyway. As objects continuously change meaning, a stunning circus language emerges in which virtuosity, humour and imagination go hand in hand.
